  Manitoba invites 602 candidates in major PNP draw Manitoba has now issued 7,391 invitations to PNP candidates since the start of 2021. Manitoba invited 602 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on September 2. Invited candidates have the opportunity to get a nomination from the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). If they receive it, the nomination will support their final application for Canadian permanent residence and they will be able to apply as Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. Another 635 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates in the Express Entry system have been invited to apply for permanent residence. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its latest draw on September 1. The minimum score cutoff was 764, since all candidates had a provincial nomination worth 600 points in the Express Entry system. The maximum number of points one can possibly receive is 1,200. Candidates must have registered their Expression of Interest (EOI) in Quebec’s online registration portal, Arrima. An EOI is a pre-application screening process. B.C. invited 74 immigration candidates who work in key technology occupations to apply for a provincial nomination on August 24. The new invitations were issued through the BC PNP Tech, which is part of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Those invited through B.C’s Tech draws must meet the requirements of one of British Columbia’s Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories, which are managed by the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS). A total of 6,000 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The Comprehensive Ranking System score requirement (CRS) was 357. This CRS cutoff is the second-lowest ever for a CEC-only draw. The lowest was 75 during the historic February 13, 2021 draw that saw 27,332 CEC candidates invited to apply for permanent residence. The CRS requirement continues to fall in CEC-only draws as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) looks for even more in-Canada candidates to invite to support its goal of welcoming 401,000 new immigrants this year. Canada invited 627 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence on July 7. The invitation round was only for candidates who had a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These candidates needed a score of at least 760. The cutoff score is relatively high because PNP candidates automatically get 600 points added to their score. Without this award, the lowest-scoring candidate would have 160 points. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also published a cutoff time for the tie-break rule. This is an administrative requirement, and it does not mean there was any actual tie. Candidates who had the minimum score were only invited if they submitted their Express Entry profile before  June 14, 2021 at 07:44:05 UTC.
